Website Updates, ULM Juried Art Show

With the University of Louisiana at Monroe's spring semester nearing a close, the Spring 2009 page will soon be filled with the latest pieces. Several of the Spring 2009 photos have been added to that gallery page, and a more extensive collection is shown on the Photography page.

It is also time for the University of Louisiana at Monroe's annual Student Juried Art Exhibition. Now in its 12th year, the exhibition highlights the creations of the student body and is judged by outside jurors. Last year Steven Spitzer's Nest and Majestic were accepted into the show, with Majestic winning the Databank, IMX Award of Merit. In this year's show the new creations Nature's Kachinas and Lilliputian Tea-Time have been accepted for judging. Photos of these works are currently unavailable but will be added to the website after the exhibition closes.

The 12th Annual Student Juried Art Exhibition runs from April 6, 2009 to May 1, 2009, with a reception and awards ceremony on April 9, 2009.

23.December.2008
Website Updates, Holiday Wishes

With the end of the University of Louisiana at Monroe's fall semester schedules have become less hectic. Artwork has either been finished or is on hold for the time being, and pieces that were previously unavailable due to university constraints have been returned. This has enabled the completion of the Fine Art and For Sale pages, as well as an update to the Fall 2008 gallery page. Also, two high resolution photos of Wavy Pitcher have been added to the Spring 2008 page. Additionally, all pieces that are available for sale are now marked with an asterisk on the gallery pages.

Happy Holidays from Gecko Art Studio!

Welcome to GeckoArtStudio.com!

Welcome to the launch of Gecko Art Studio's website. Here you will find plenty of unique content, with more to be added in the near future. For a quick overview, here is a breakdown of how the Gallery section is laid out:

Sorted by Media: With sections devoted to Ceramics & Mixed Media, Photography, and Fine Art (drawings & paintings), this section has the most diversity. The Ceramics & Mixed Media page only has high-resolution, professional photos of completed works.
Sorted Chronologically: Currently only ceramic and mixed media works are included here, as the site progresses photography and fine art will be added to the pages. All previous works are included here, making this section the most complete.
Sorted by Style & Series: Specific categories of works, such as the Totem series, Maya series, and Miniature & Micro Pottery series are included here. This section best showcases special themes and ideas particular to these pieces.

Featured Work:
Calabash Tree
Fall 2008

As the site is in the final construction phases, the following sections are still being worked on and will be up in the near future:

For Sale Works: Once the Fall 2008 semester for the University of Louisiana at Monroe ends this section will be added. Several pieces that did not sell at the ULM Art Sale will be on this page, as well as other available works. However, if you would like to commission a piece or a series, feel free to email us from the For Sale page for a quotation and details.
Fine Art Gallery: Many of the current pieces are currently unavailable due to university constraints. This gallery will be added after the semester ends when they become available again.
